This was eventually fixed to which you could only have certain loot tiers that could be used by your class, and the rate at which early-game legendary items dropped was up. This meant that even though the legendary items you'd be getting didn't cause any problems but you did sometimes get a little bit of dopamine that kept you hooked.
When Diablo 4 gets that right and has a similar loot system to that of Diablo IV Gold Loot2.0 and Loot2.0 in Diablo 3, then we're already worried about just how much time we're going to spend playing the game. Diablo 3's debacle is the best thing that could happen to the series on a continuous basis. And when you add it together with Immortal's Immortal controversy, it feels like Blizzard offers a clear roadmap of potholes to avoid for it to stay at the top of the list of it's most loyal players.
The community is extremely vocal about what it doesn't like and has been doing so throughout the lifespan of Diablo 3, so we're hopeful that Blizzard will take this feedback from players who are fortunate enough to play significant portions of the game prior to its release. Although we'd bet Blizzard isn't thrilled by the torrent of leaked footage that seems to follow on the heels of one of these private tests.
A key element of Diablo 3 that is confirmed to return are the season-long Seasons. They are basically post-game pieces of content, which change the way legendary items work and also remix the gameplay of the game base and add replayability to a game that's already incredibly replayable. Seasons were supported for a considerable amount times in Diablo 3, so we're hopeful that they'll become a huge focus during Diablo 4.
The seasonal nature of the game can also set Diablo 4 up to be another appealing Game Pass game, should the merger end up closing. A game like Diablo with rock-solid gameplay is the ideal choice to be a service that is designed for players to return to real-time games within a few months. However this game, which is set to buy Diablo IV Gold be released in June and the battle over the future of Activision continuing to be fought This is one game which is unlikely to receive its Game Pass treatment on day one, unless something radically changes.
If we were to bet on it, we'd bet that the main goal for Diablo 4.4 is when the game launches those in the community that were offended, and rightly so, about Diablo Immortal relax and think "oh yes, that's Diablo."
There are still some cosmetic microtransactions, and the forced online connection does feel like it could see some opposition, the contrast between the loot box-driven, extremely cynical mobile title, we're hoping this could be a breath of fresh air. Many of the players who were addicted to Immortal seemed to do so due to the fact that it has just enough of the unique Diablo special sauce to distinguish the series from its peers, so a game full of it could be a success.
There was a period in the gaming industry where everything Blizzard made available slowed down traffic. There would be weeks of work and the business as a whole would freeze until it was time to take a look at the work that it was that the Blizzard team had put together.
